This is a unique opportunity to lead engagement and events for a landmark project from the ground up — shaping how government, industry and community experience Bradfield City Centre as it's built. As Manager, Engagement and Events, you'll have real autonomy to design the strategy and see the programs you build play out in real time.
Leading a high-performing team, you'll design and deliver innovative, targeted engagement programs that inform, involve and empower stakeholders to genuinely contribute to Bradfield City's future. You'll build and sustain relationships across all levels of government, peak bodies and community groups, develop and deliver events that engage all sections of the community, and manage the strategic use of the First Building Discovery Centre as a flagship space for connection and storytelling. Along the way, you'll drive continuous improvement, building the frameworks, tools and team capability that set the standard for public sector engagement excellence.
What you will bring to the role:
- Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end design and delivery of engagement programs and large-scale events within a complex and regulated environment.
- The ability to translate complex information for different audiences, write persuasively, and create space for others to contribute to the conversation.
- Skill in building trust across government and industry, negotiating win-win outcomes, and bringing people together around a shared goal.
- Confidence to make autonomous decisions, own outcomes, and lead a small team (up to two direct reports).
- Experience managing project scope, stakeholder communication strategies and multiple interdependencies to keep ambitious programs on track.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Valid Driver’s license and the willingness/ability to travel to locations not accessible by public transport
