About this role
This is an analytics position from India within the global Data Intelligence team. You will be required to use data and analytics to help shape some of the most important commercial and strategic decisions within the India business. You’ll succeed by uncovering meaningful opportunities, making insights easier to access and act on, and collaborating across SME affiliates to build solutions with impact within and beyond India.
What you'll do:
-
Collaborate with analytics teams across Asia, the Middle East and global functions to solve shared business challenges, exchange analytical approaches and develop scalable solutions that can be applied across markets.
-
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex internal and external datasets into actionable insights and recommendations.
-
Develop a strong understanding of the music and entertainment landscape and use a combination of quantitative and qualitative research to interpret market, competitor, consumer, partner and industry developments.
-
Work confidently across a broad range of data sources, analytical tools, and methodologies to explore emerging business questions and opportunities for Sony Music’s artists, releases, and the overall business.
-
Design, develop, adapt and continuously improve analytical tools, dashboards, reporting frameworks and self-service solutions, including through the use of emerging technologies. Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand their objectives, translate business questions into structured analytical approaches, and communicate findings through clear data storytelling and practical recommendations.
Who you are:
-
3-5 years of Analytics experience in any one of ecommerce/D2C/retail/media/entertainment and you are adept at solving problems logically, drawing clear conclusions from data and proposing effective solutions.
-
You are comfortable working with large data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift) or large data extracts. Familiarity with SQL, Python and/or Alteryx, and experience in automating, cleaning, and debugging your own workflows considered favourably.
-
You build accurate and precise Excel models and design executive-ready PowerPoint decks that turn dense analysis into a story leaders can act on.
-
You demonstrate acute problem solving ability coupled with commercial acumen: you connect data to business impact (revenue, market share, ROI, audience growth) in a way that resonates with non-technical colleagues.
-
You're a clear communicator with sharp attention to detail, comfortable presenting to a room of peers and sense-checking your own work before it's shared.
-
Bachelor in Engineering or similar, MBA preferred.
What we give you:
-
You join a vibrant global community with the opportunity to channel your passion every day
-
A modern office environment designed for you, empowering you to bring your best
-
Investment in your professional growth and development enabling you to thrive in our vibrant community
