Manager, Account Follow-Up Services

About the Role MEDHOST, a division of Harris, is seeking a Manager, Account Follow-Up Services who is experienced, strategic, and able to lead the team. In this remote role, you’ll help improve the revenue cycle, keep clients happy, and develop new strategies to support the company’s success. What You'll Do

• Lead Your Team: Guide and develop a high-performing team; set clear goals, review performance, ensure accountability, and foster a culture of quality across remote teams.
• Improve Processes: Standardize revenue cycle processes, identify risks or areas for improvement, pursue automation opportunities, and manage multiple projects.
• Analyze Performance: Use data to track key results, spot trends, and provide reports and guidance to senior leadership and clients; work to improve denial rates, AR days, aging percentages, and cash collections; perform root-cause analysis.
• Manage Clients & Partners: Be the main client contact; build strong relationships with sales, finance, client services, executives, and clinical teams; resolve escalations and ensure client satisfaction while meeting service agreements and performance goals.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, healthcare regulations (HIPAA, CMS, payer rules), and best practices to protect operations and client trust.
• Stay Current: Keep up with industry trends, new rules, and technology to stay competitive and guide decisions.
• Travel: Occasional travel 10-20% per year for client meetings, conferences, or team events. What We're Looking For
• Experience: At least 5 years in account management, revenue cycle management, or a similar client-facing financial role, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory position.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Good understanding of all RCM steps: front-end, coding, billing, accounts receivable (AR), denial management, and collections.
• Knowledge of how different payers work, payment methods, and contract management.
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, and medical coding rules.
• Understanding of healthcare compliance and regulations (HIPAA, CMS, payer rules).
• Experience with EHR/PM systems (like Epic, Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks).
• Proven success leading hospital revenue cycle operations and managing performance based on industry standards.
• Excellent leadership skills, with proven experience guiding, coaching, and developing teams; able to set expectations and accountability; experience managing cross-department and remote teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to understand RCM data and translate into smart actions.
• Experience tracking and improving key metrics like denial rates, AR days, aging percentages, and cash collections; root-cause analysis.
• Skilled at presenting data and performance reviews to clients at an executive level, using clear visuals.
• Strong project management skills; able to handle many projects at once.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to influence people at all levels; can explain complex RCM data clearly in client and executive meetings.
• Proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
• Experience working with and improving various EMR and Clearinghouse platforms.
• Highly organized and good at managing time; detail-oriented; able to work on both big-picture strategy and daily tasks.

• Salary: 70K - 90K per year
