Lead and grow a team of senior security engineers in Intuit's Product Security organization. This is a technical leadership role with a Day 1 mindset: reinventing how product security operates in the AI era rather than running an established playbook. Product Security is a trusted partner to business leaders across Intuit, appraising them of security risks so their investments are prioritized correctly while reducing overall risk for our customers. The team's work spans security reviews, design consults, exception and risk evaluations, security standards, and AI/agentic system security. You will own the delivery and quality of this portfolio across the entire Intuit ecosystem, and lead its transformation from human-first processes to continuous, agent-first ones, while defining and raising the security bar for Intuit products, including emerging AI and agentic experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong product security background, experience leading senior IC talent, a builder's mindset toward automation and reinvention, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of security engineers at the staff, senior staff, and principal engineer levels
• Own delivery and quality of the full product security portfolio across the entire Intuit ecosystem, including security reviews, design consults, and exception and risk evaluations, ensuring recommendations are timely, actionable, and grounded in business context
• Reinvent product security processes with a Day 1 mindset, questioning inherited defaults and rebuilding workflows around automation and agents rather than incrementally improving manual ones
• Drive the shift from human-first to agent-first across reviews, consults, and exception processing, with human oversight reserved for real judgment calls
• Ensure security work produces durable, structured context and artifacts that both engineers and AI agents can consume, so findings and decisions compound over time instead of living in one-off documents
• Define and evolve baseline security controls that set the security bar for products across the Intuit ecosystem, and partner with platform teams to embed them into paved paths so whole classes of risk are engineered out by default
• Raise the security bar for AI and agentic systems, including standards for MCP, agents, and agentic identity, and unify AI security into the core review and consult pipeline
• Partner with business and engineering leaders across Intuit to surface security risks early, inform investment decisions, and build durable trust through consistent leadership engagement
• Define and manage program effectiveness metrics, including coverage, cycle time, and control adoption, reporting them on a regular cadence to leadership

Qualifications

• Required Experience / Skills

• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing security engineering teams, including senior and principal-level ICs

• Deep technical proficiency in application security, secure design review, threat modeling, and cloud security (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)

• Demonstrated experience transforming or rebuilding security programs, not just operating them, with hands-on automation of security processes such as review tooling, policy-as-code, or AI-assisted triage and analysis

• Experience defining security standards, baselines, or control frameworks and driving their adoption across large engineering organizations

• Experience partnering with senior business and engineering leaders and influencing decisions through risk-based recommendations rather than gatekeeping

• Strong understanding of modern development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and how to integrate security upstream into build environments

• Ability to manage effective relationships with organizational leaders, build a roadmap, and drive broad initiatives to completion

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk into business terms for executive audiences

• Preferred Skills

• Experience securing AI/ML and agentic systems (LLM integrations, MCP, agent authorization and identity models)

• Experience with security automation or software development (e.g., Python, Go)

• Experience running consult and exception/risk-acceptance processes at scale in ecosystem-wide or company-wide security roles

• Ability to navigate hard conversations and disseminate information to team members

• Effective organizational and planning skills, with the ability to successfully guide projects through to completion

• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification preferred

• Required Education / Experience

• BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience

• 8+ years industry experience in security engineering, application security, or product security

• 3+ years leadership experience managing managers and/or leading teams of principal and staff-level security engineers.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

• Mountain View 255,000 - 345,000

• San Diego, CA 240,000- 324,500
