Job title: Mammography Technologist
About the Role Logan Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Mammography Technologist to join our Radiology team in Kalispell. This PRN position offers potential to transition into a full-time role and provides training in mammography for X-ray Technologists. The role performs mammography imaging and/or bone density (DXA) per scope and supports general patient throughput.
What You'll Do
- Properly identify and prepare patients for mammography exams, clearly explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort
- Obtain and accurately document relevant patient history and exam-related information
- Perform mammography imaging and process images for radiologist interpretation
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with departmental protocols
- Ensure patients understand exam results and available options as communicated by the Radiologist
- Perform daily start-up, end-of-day, and next-day preparation duties per department procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, including stocking and inventory control
- Assist with quality assurance activities and preparation for ACR and FDA accreditation
- Participate in continuing education and ongoing professional development related to mammography
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Current ARRT certification
- Valid Montana State Radiologic Technologist license
- BLS certification
- Mammography certification preferred or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred
- ARDMS certification required (Breast Sonography Qualifications, as applicable to role)
- One (1) year experience preferred in quality control, breast sonography, stereotactic biopsies
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational skills; self-motivated with critical thinking and prioritization abilities; ability to work independently while contributing to a team
