Job title: Maintenance Worker - Roads & Debris Removal
Position Summary: Responsible for removal of litter & debris, and the maintenance, servicing and repairs of roads and other infrastructure assets. This role maintains contracted assets per contract standards and as directed by the supervisor.
What You'll Do
- Create and manage safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) controls by setting up and removing traffic control devices (cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.).
- Transport crew and equipment to work sites, operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
- Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
- Remove road debris and litter from roadway surfaces, shoulders, around facilities, docks, mooring areas, jetties, loading ramps, parking areas, and other client properties.
- Remove foreign objects such as shopping carts and other debris from client property; remove debris around stockpile locations; remove accumulated or foreign stockpiles dumped on client system.
- Remove dead animals in and around toll roads and facilities (do not remove dead animals larger than 150 pounds or hazardous material; notify client for removal).
- Remove illegal signs or structures not erected or authorized by client.
- Remove hazard/incident roadway debris; remove debris and litter due to high tide and winds at contract locations.
- Keep roadways free of debris; perform related duties as assigned.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

- Practice safe work methods to minimize accidents and injuries; ability to recognize hazards in routine and non-routine tasks and adjust to avoid loss or harm.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the job.
- Ability to cooperate and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate proportions, percentages, measurements).
- Ability to understand instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; read, write and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to work flexibly and willingness to work extensively to meet business needs.
- High attention to detail and ownership of responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete, asphalt repair, construction, and maintenance.
- Skill in the use and care of small hand power tools.
- Ability to interface with the public professionally.
- 24/7 availability for holidays, nights, weekends, overtime, 2nd & 3rd shifts, and on-call duties as assigned.
