About the Role Under the supervision of the Area Supervisor, the incumbent assists in maintaining contracted assets (roadways, vegetation, etc.). This role supports snow/ice removal, debris clearance, and vegetation management, and operates and transports crew and equipment to job sites to ensure safe, efficient maintenance. Pay range: $21–$22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. What You'll Do
- Remove snow and ice by using snow removal equipment
- Assist with loading and unloading of winter materials
- Maintain highway surfaces by removal of litter and debris
- Operate vehicles and equipment for surface and right-of-way maintenance to control vegetation appearance and growth
- As Required May assist with traffic control setup and removal
- Transport crew and equipment to work sites
- Required to be available for emergency response as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Willing to travel
- All other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year work experience in construction, road maintenance, commercial/industrial repair, maintenance or landscaping (outdoor work)
- Experience in operating a loader (asset)
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods (TDG), WHMIS and job-related aspects of Occupational Health
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written); strong safety awareness
- Ability to follow policies and procedures; ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing demands and priorities
- Ability to work with hand and power tools, traffic control devices and mobile equipment (tractors, graders, mowers, sweepers, augers, etc.)
- PPE usage and safety focus Nice to Have
