About the Role The University of Dayton is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join Facilities Management & Planning. This role helps care for and maintain more than 5.5 million square feet of campus facilities across a 432‑acre urban campus, with tuition assistance and a comprehensive benefits package. What You'll Do
- Perform skilled maintenance tasks in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.
- Follow detailed oral and written instructions to complete work orders.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of tools and equipment.
- Support maintenance of academic, residential, administrative, research, and athletic facilities.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and a low‑risk driving record to transport materials and equipment.
- Use basic computer/email and internet programs to document work and communicate with the team.
- Collaborate with Facilities Management & Planning staff to ensure safe, reliable facilities. What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of experience in comparable work.
- Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated skills.
- Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.
- Knowledge of job-related tools and equipment.
- Valid driver's license and insurable by the University (low risk driving record).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions (oral and written in English). Nice to Have
- General knowledge of appliance repairs and understanding of HVAC systems.
