Job title: Maintenance Technician - Slaughter Equipment
About the Role The Maintenance Technician will install, maintain, and repair slaughter machinery and equipment at Bachoco USA. This on-site, safety-sensitive role requires welding, hydraulic system work, and operation of powered industrial equipment to keep production lines running.
What You'll Do
- Install, maintain, and repair slaughter machinery and equipment
- Weld stainless steel components of equipment
- Service hydraulic units, vacuum units, paw transfer piping, pits, and related offal equipment
- Monitor hydraulic fluid levels and perform setup, teardown, adjustments, and rebuilding of equipment as needed
- Operate Powered Industrial Equipment including forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack, etc.
- Adhere to safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions
- Work in a fast-paced production environment and be available to work the stated shifts as required
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED; or 0-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups
- Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; solve problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Physical demands: ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell; occasionally lift up to 70 pounds; close vision
- Willingness and ability to work the stated schedule (Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM) and to comply with safety-sensitive requirements
Nice to Have
- Welding stainless steel equipment
- Experience with hydraulic systems in slaughter equipment
- Familiarity with powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks
