Job title: Maintenance Technician

About the Role The role supports installation, troubleshooting, repair, modification and maintenance of manufacturing and facilities equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal codes. This position emphasizes safety, technical problem solving, and collaboration with Engineering and operations to keep equipment running efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot, modify, repair and install manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment across vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction, heating, lubrication, abrasive and pressure cleaning systems, and their components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facilities' operations and physical systems.
  • Perform plumbing, machining, welding and fabrication to machinery, tools, and equipment components as required to maintain systems.
  • Plan and implement projects from design and layout through maintenance; provide technical assistance to Engineering in design and selection of equipment and facilities; develop sketches or drawings for proposed modifications.
  • Adhere to plant and department safety rules; safely operate all equipment and tools; identify and report safety problems; correct when possible; recognize and respond to Hazardous Materials spills.
  • May be required to complete annual hazardous waste training, handle hazardous waste, complete weekly inspections, or manage areas that generate or handle hazardous waste (depending on assignment).
  • Complete logs and records; provide work direction and training as assigned.
  • May participate in Hazardous Materials Spill Response Team (Voluntary at LSBO and SSBO, required at TBO).
  • Work with essential equipment, including lathes, mills, saws, and Dimensional Measuring Tools (calipers, micrometers).

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in maintenance, installation and repair of manufacturing equipment and facilities systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction heating, lubrication, abrasive and pressure cleaning systems and their components; perform plumbing, machining, welding and fabrication as needed.
  • Experience planning and implementing projects, providing technical assistance to Engineering, and developing sketches or drawings for modifications.
  • Strong safety mindset: adherence to safety rules, safe operation of equipment, hazard recognition and response to spills; willingness to participate in hazardous materials management when required.
  • Ability to document work through logs and records and to provide guidance or training to others as assigned.
  • Familiarity with basic shop tools and equipment (lathes, mills, saws) and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hazardous materials management and spill response (as applicable).
