About the Role Sunrise Management & Consulting is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician for Long Pond Village Apartments in Schenectady, NY. The role involves responding to resident work orders, performing repairs, painting, cleaning, and grounds maintenance, with snow removal as needed. Candidates should be able to work on-call and deliver high-quality service with attention to detail.
What You'll Do
- Respond to residents' work orders by assessing issues and performing repairs (electrical/plumbing repairs not requiring a specialist; drywall, doors, fixtures)
- Patch, paint, and clean apartment interiors to standards and schedule
- Maintain the property exterior and grounds, including snow removal and debris removal; keep walkways clean and safe
- Inspect grounds daily for hazards or unsafe conditions; manage dumpster area cleanliness
- Maintain required logs, work orders, Entrata records, and other documents
- Follow safety regulations and participate in other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Basic plumbing, electrical, painting/patching, carpentry skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues in apartments and common areas
- Proficiency with tools and machinery; understand safety
- Ability to work on-call and overtime
- Professionalism and effective communication with residents and coworkers
- English language proficiency (read, write, speak)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle; ability to operate company truck
- Ability to climb ladders and work in awkward spaces; ability to multi-task and manage time
- Independent working style with limited supervision
- Residency restriction: not a Sunrise-managed resident
- Must be able to drive to job sites
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
