Job title: Maintenance Technician

About the Role The Maintenance Technician is part of the Maintenance department and reports to the Engineering Department. This role focuses on repairing and maintaining equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, DC electric tools, conveyors, production machines and equipment to support production. The technician will perform mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related tasks, often working with Sr. Techs to ensure reliable, safe operations.

What You'll Do

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation, diagnose and repair malfunctions.
  • Dismantle mechanical devices to gain access to, remove, and replace defective parts.
  • Make approved modifications to machinery and equipment to meet production needs.
  • Lubricate and clean parts; start equipment to test performance.
  • Set up and operate mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, welder, and other metalworking tools to make or repair parts.
  • Maintain, install, and repair electrical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work orders on equipment and tooling.
  • Program PLCs and use PLC logic to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems (Sr. Tech support).
  • Install new machinery and equipment (Sr. Tech involvement).
  • Observe all company rules and policies; maintain a safe work environment; perform lockout/tagout procedures for defective equipment or tools.
  • Fabricate approved fixtures for production use; perform pipefitting.

What We're Looking For

  • Skilled Trades Certificate or degree with basic knowledge of electrical processes, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, pipe fitting and blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to do addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability: ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to follow written and verbal instructions (e.g., engineering specifications and/or drawings); logically troubleshoot issues and develop corrective actions.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Skilled Trades Certificate or degree with experience implementing or applying the skills in a work environment (e.g., welding, machinist, electronics).
  • Physical Demands: must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally; must have good vision; must take a FFD physical to qualify.
  • PROOF OF ABILITY: candidates must provide proof they can perform the listed duties (certificates, training, testing, or demonstrated work).
