Maintenance Technician

About the Role KIRCHHOFF Automotive is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair industrial machinery and equipment at our Tecumseh, Ontario facility. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and set up welding/automation equipment as part of continuous improvement to maximize safety, efficiency and uptime. What You'll Do

• Work safely, follow safety work instructions or designated safety procedures (such as Lock Out Tag Out)
• Ensure all assigned equipment is in good working condition; inspect machinery for defects per preventative maintenance program
• Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and carry out remedial actions; repair and replace parts as required
• Perform general equipment maintenance (cleaning, oiling and greasing) according to the preventative maintenance program
• Report abnormalities to Maintenance Supervisor; perform basic mechanical and pipe fitting
• Operate welding equipment (arc welding) and set up robotic welding stations; adjust welding fixtures as necessary to ensure good quality welding
• Ensure fluid levels are maintained; advise Maintenance Supervisor to order replacement parts; build machine replacement parts as required
• Perform general building equipment maintenance duties and install small equipment
• Make adjustments in welding program when required and participate in improving efficiency and cycle times
• Carry out electrical maintenance procedures; troubleshoot electric/electronic system faults and ensure safety controls are functional
• Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Act guidelines; contribute to 5S discipline and a safe work environment
• Comply with laws and represent KIRCHHOFF Automotive Tecumseh when using company equipment What We're Looking For
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance/repair
• Ability to read blueprint drawings
• Experience with presses up to 1,500 tons, automation, robotics, welders and etc.
• Strong knowledge of electrical functioning, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and automation equipment
• Ability to operate all maintenance equipment
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Basic mechanical skills
