Working closely with qualified engineers and technical leads, the Maintenance Technician supports inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs while developing a strong foundation in safe, reliable facility operations. This role offers a clear entry point into JLL's engineering career path, with opportunities for hands-on learning, ongoing training, and skill development within a supportive team environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assist qualified engineers with inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs under close supervision, following prescribed task instructions and quality checks.
  • Follow assigned inspection routes, record equipment readings, and promptly report leaks, alarms, damage, or unusual conditions; obtain direction before changing operating settings.
  • Use standard operating procedures to address routine problems and request help when a procedure doesn't cover the condition encountered.
  • Record completed work, time, materials, and follow-up needs in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), submitting work for review as directed.
  • Maintain tools, parts, equipment, and supplies in clean and safe condition, and communicate task status clearly to team members.
  • Follow safety procedures and required protective equipment protocols, stopping work and seeking assistance when conditions are unsafe or unfamiliar.
  • Support on-call or emergency response through assigned tasks under direction, reporting conditions promptly and assisting the responding qualified engineer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic operational skills and mechanical aptitude for straightforward maintenance work, supported by appropriate training and credentials for assigned tasks.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal procedures, apply quality guidelines, and use appropriate tools safely under close supervision.
  • Ability to identify common equipment, record observations accurately, and recognize when assistance is needed.
  • Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn safe maintenance practices (prior paid maintenance experience is not required).
  • Ability to hold and maintain the licenses, training, and certifications appropriate to assigned work; duties requiring a specific credential may only be performed once that credential and required authorization are in place.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortably use ladders up to 30 feet tall.
  • Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive, with required on-site presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade school, union training, military service, or college experience.
  • Strong customer service skills and clear communication with team members.
