About the Role
Maintenance Technician I at a Senior Living campus supports short-term, preventative, and emergency maintenance across buildings, grounds, and equipment. You’ll help prepare units for new residents and collaborate with the Director of Facility Services to maintain safe, clean, and well-functioning spaces for residents and staff.
What You'll Do
- Repair plumbing, install fixtures, and prepare units for new residents.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing leaks, clogs, and water pressure issues; replace toilets, faucets, and plumbing hardware; swap outlets, switches, light fixtures; perform basic electrical diagnostics.
- Carpentry & Appliance Work: repair or replace cabinets, doors, locks, and drywall; install and remove appliances like dishwashers, ovens, and washer/dryer units; maintain door hardware and secure entryways.
- General Maintenance & Facility Support: manage digital work orders; mount TVs, grab bars, and other fixtures; assist with basic tech setups; prepare units for new residents with inspections and coordination; keep tools and parts inventory organized.
- Work under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services and participate in preventative maintenance programs to ensure reliable campus operations.
- Physical requirements: ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
What We're Looking For
- Solid experience in general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry); strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications a plus.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Experience in healthcare or residential facilities highly preferred.
Nice to Have
- Technical certifications are a plus.
- Experience in a healthcare or senior living facility environment.
