Job title: Maintenance Technician - Automation
About the Role USCS/HelloRache's engineering team seeks a Maintenance Technician focused on automation to maintain and optimize automated systems in our cold chain facilities. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate with warehouse operations, automation providers, and engineering to minimize downtime.
What You'll Do
- Maintain optimal performance of the automated system and integrated automation components and controls.
- Diagnose system faults, implement timely resolutions, and ensure continuous operational efficiency.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and other technical documentation to perform repairs; perform scheduled and preventative maintenance as directed.
- Escalate breakdowns and system outages; act as liaison between warehouse operations, automation providers, and USCS Engineering.
- Adapt work schedules to meet project deadlines; participate in continuous improvement teams as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with automated equipment; multi-task across competing responsibilities; demonstrate teamwork.
- Operate forklifts and boom lifts, including safety at elevated heights; perform secondary tasks such as paperwork, battery maintenance, housekeeping, and other preventive maintenance.
- Utilize a network-based Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system to manage work orders and document status; track inventory for preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain ability to work independently with limited supervision and travel minimal.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; advanced technical training in maintenance preferred; elevated USCS maintenance position with completion of USCS Automation training on basic courses preferred.
- Experience: Two years maintenance experience in manufacturing or distribution center; basic electrical skills (troubleshooting and replacing/adjusting cables, sensors); basic mechanical skills (troubleshooting and replacing/adjusting chains, rollers); ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems; strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CMMS familiarity.
- Other abilities: Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs regularly; lift up to 70 lbs with assistance; work in temperatures from +50F to -30F; stand, walk, and use stairs; operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers; effective communication; self-starter; able to work independently; thrive in fast-paced environment.

- Advanced technical training in maintenance; completion of USCS Automation training on basic courses; holding an elevated USCS maintenance position with current automation training.
