Job title: Maintenance Supervisor
About the Role The Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of technicians within Bachoco USA's Maintenance and Refrigeration departments, driving improvements in equipment and facility performance. This role partners with the Maintenance Manager and contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of preventive maintenance and repairs across plants and equipment.
What You'll Do
- Directly supervise 8 employees in the Maintenance Department including Refrigeration Operators; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure the Preventive Maintenance Program and Maintenance Work Orders are performed properly by the crew.
- Maintain the safety of the mechanics, refrigeration operators, and the facility equipment inside and outside including the waste water area; ensure safety programs are adhered to by employees and contractors.
- Work with the Maintenance Manager on all projects to ensure completion properly and safely; coordinate with contractors to ensure their jobs are completed per company policies.
- Use downtime records to help improve production efficiencies; maintain log records on equipment, timesheets, green sheets, and scheduled day off records.
- Maintain training records on all Maintenance and Refrigeration employees and keep them updated as required.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
- Look for future problems with equipment or facility, help mechanics troubleshoot equipment failure, and provide needed assistance to help make machine repairs.
What We're Looking For
- Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must complete respirator training and have a valid driver's license.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Able to look for future problems with equipment, help troubleshoot, and perform needed assistance to help make machine repairs.
