Job title: Maintenance Subject Matter Expert
About the Role The Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (Maintenance SME) is a member of the central HQ Continuous Improvement Team within Manufacturing. Primary objective is developing and implementing standards and methods for the maintenance improvement stream to drive cost savings, improve machinery reliability and uptime, manage spare parts, and increase maintenance efficiency. The role also supports the Pirelli Manufacturing Excellence (PME) program across factories.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain standards and methods for the Professional and Autonomous Maintenance improvement stream and create associated training materials.
- Serve as a trainer on Maintenance standards and improvement methods inside the Pirelli Academy to build competency across HQ and factories.
- Provide support to Plant Directors, Maintenance stream leaders and improvement teams to successfully implement standards and methods according to the Pirelli System Road Map, including dedicated on-site missions.
- Identify and promote good practices with Stream leaders across factories.
- Monitor PME implementation progress and project achievements.
- Act as an assessor during factory audits.
- Develop an adequate level of competence about the Company organization and production processes to support continuous improvement as a whole.
What We're Looking For
- At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with significant experience in maintenance and Lean management.
- Master's Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Management.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (German, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Chinese) are a plus.
- Strong understanding of Manufacturing Improvement Systems and Professional/Autonomous Maintenance improvement methods.
- Ability to work in international teams and traveling flexibility.
Nice to Have
- Technical background with shop-floor practice enabling creative and cost-effective maintenance improvements.
- Demonstrated leadership in implementing continuous improvement systems worldwide, with ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
Compensation & Benefits
- The employment contract is regulated by the Gomma Plastica National Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Base gross annual salary (RAL) offered will be no less than €55,000; final salary may be higher based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
