Overview
Quality Foods Africa is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to maintain equipment, facilities, and technical systems while ensuring operational efficiency and minimising equipment downtime.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
- Maintain maintenance schedules, records, tools, and spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate specialised repairs with external technicians and contractors.
- Inspect facilities, identify potential faults, and recommend solutions.
- Support the installation, servicing, and commissioning of new equipment.
Requirements
- HND/B.Sc. in HVAC/Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2–3 years’ relevant maintenance experience, preferably in food service, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, or commercial environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, generators, pumps, and general building maintenance is an advantage.
- Ability to diagnose faults, perform basic repairs, and respond to emergencies.
- Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant technical certifications are an added advantage.
