Job title: Maintenance Mechanic
Join The Hershey Company Hazleton Plant as a Maintenance Mechanic. You will maintain and support the reliability of manufacturing equipment and processes through preventive and predictive maintenance, with hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. The role includes a structured training program (up to 18 months) with growth opportunities and a competitive sign-on bonus.
What You'll Do
- Ensure reliable operation of machinery and equipment through preventive maintenance on production and process equipment including conveying systems, high-speed packaging equipment, automated/robotic material handling, utility and process equipment; utilize technical drawings, equipment manuals, and engineering specifications
- Determine and diagnose changes in component condition through inspection and measurement
- Minimize downtime by collaborating with operations to optimize equipment reliability, through preventive and corrective maintenance techniques
- Communicate and document critical details through computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 18 years of age; HS Diploma or GED; flexible to work all shifts; eligible to be placed on a 12-hour rotational schedule; available to work weekends, holidays and overtime (potentially up to 30 minutes prior to end of shift)
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience; mechanical, electrical (480V, 3 phase and control voltage), millwright, welding, plumbing, conveying and packaging equipment
- Basic computer skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or similar processes
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, reading blueprints and schematics, diagnosing and repairing problems
- Experience with mechanical drive systems including chains, belts, shafts, gears; system operation and performance
- Experience with HVAC, boilers, and wastewater treatment
- Good attendance
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Pay Rate: $36.97/hour; $0.45 differential pay/hour for 2nd and 3rd shift (8 hour) and $0.60 differential pay/hour for 12-hour night shift
