Job title: Maintenance Manager

About the Role The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, efficient and sustainable asset condition to support production and business supply. They plan, direct, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, modifications, enhancements, and/or new construction of production facilities, energy facilities and buildings to achieve the required technical and operational readiness and reliability. As a member of the technical/production team for a factory/site, the role contributes to an optimal production process and jointly oversees all maintenance and repair activities, including preventive maintenance on existing facilities and potential smaller CAPEX projects.

What You'll Do

  • Maintenance planning: Prepares mid- and long-term maintenance planning for the assigned area, including budgets; liaises with functional or operational area managers to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities; plans, prioritises, schedules, and manages all maintenance activities (planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs) to rectify break-downs and minimise business disruptions.
  • Maintenance management: Prepares / prioritizes maintenance activities to maintain efficient and safe production; assists in setting, resetting and adjusting production and packaging equipment for complex product and format transitions; assesses the nature of maintenance, ensures materials, parts and tools availability, and plans execution with relevant departments; manages maintenance staff and external technicians, supervising safety and evaluating work results.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical and technical control of production equipment, utility equipment, and refrigerating systems; locates the cause of disturbances, assesses whether third parties must be hired, and determines whether immediate repair is possible; coordinates urgent repairs as needed.
  • Preventive / planned maintenance: Prepares preventive maintenance schedules and conducts inspections; identifies and reports on defects; directly repairs impending defects when possible; plans and executes corrective maintenance as scheduled.
  • Continuous improvement: Researches, evaluates, and recommends new equipment, tools and processes to enhance production and maintenance capabilities; monitors cost and effectiveness of activities and rolls out TPM/AM/PM best practices.
  • Compliance: Ensures compliance with operating, safety, quality, risk and health regulations; manages spare parts compliance and inventory; monitors safety practices including ATEX, work at height, LOTO, confined space and work permits.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in maintenance planning and management, including mid- and long-term planning and budgeting.
  • Ability to coordinate with functional/operational managers and other stakeholders; strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience supervising maintenance staff and external technicians; commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical and control systems; ability to assess when external resources are required.
  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance and reliability improvement approaches.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and spare parts inventory management.

Nice to Have

  • CAPEX project experience in maintenance or facilities.
  • Experience in a production environment within aquaculture/animal nutrition or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with maintenance software or TPM frameworks.
