Job title: Maintenance Manager
About the Role Grammer is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Shannon, United States to lead preventative maintenance of facilities and production equipment, ensure maintenance activities meet quality and environmental standards, and drive continuous improvement within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. You will manage supplier relationships, budget development, and cross-functional collaboration with health and safety, HR, and production teams, and support pre-production builds and new equipment deployments.
What You'll Do
- Provide Preventative Maintenance for facilities and production equipment
- Ensure maintenance procedures comply with quality standards and environmental regulations
- Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts for maintenance materials, utilities, and services
- Collaborate with the health and safety officer to ensure safe operations and safety standards
- Regularly review and update maintenance protocols to improve efficiency
- Participate in budget development and management for the maintenance department
- Coordinate with HR for recruitment, training, and development of maintenance staff
- Implement energy-saving measures and sustainability initiatives
- Maintain organized maintenance documentation and CMMS records
- Communicate with senior management on maintenance planning and ongoing activities
- Participate in audits and implement corrective actions
- Support project launch strategy in fast-paced automotive industry
- Provide support for pre-production builds requiring site components/services
- Review and input on new equipment
- Upkeep of building, grounds, and production equipment
- Support mold change scheduling as required by production
- Support cost-savings programs for the manufacturing site
- Coordinate training and skill improvements for the maintenance team
- Ensure timely completion, coordination, and implementation of projects
- Achieve cost and timing goals; meet PPAP, IATF 16949 and other product-launch requirements
- Maintain housekeeping of maintenance and production areas
- Ensure efficient utilities distribution (water, steam, electricity, natural gas, compressed air, waste disposal)
- Identify and drive Continuous Improvement projects with data
- Adhere to safety policies and proper PPE usage
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors during facility maintenance installation and upgrades
- Address quality issues using 8D, FMEA, etc.
- Additional duties as needed
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's in related field preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, repair work, and problem-solving
- Self-motivated and team-oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to take on challenges in all aspects of molding and assemblies operations (IMM, PIDs, PLCs, HMIs)
- Experience with mechanical, electrical (high and low voltage), pneumatics and hydraulics
- Experience with safety interlocks, safety systems, and OSHA requirements
- Ability to motivate, manage, and mentor team members; identify skill gaps and facilitate development
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proactive and strategic in minimizing unplanned downtime
- Understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and related budgeting, work orders, inventory controls
- CMMS record-keeping and documentation
- Budgeting and planning experience; IATF 16949 awareness; ISO 14001 awareness
- CAD software experience helpful; Microsoft Excel proficiency
