Maintenance Line Associate

About the Role

The Maintenance Line Associate leads preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment in Corning's Life Sciences division, troubleshoots processes, and executes repairs/modifications to keep production running at peak performance. What You'll Do

• Lead preventative maintenance activities and troubleshoot processes and equipment; execute repairs/modifications.

• Perform routine changeovers (lot changes, end-of-arm tooling changes, mold changes).

• Execute proper startup and shutdown procedures and verify equipment status.

• Assist operations with routine line issues, resets, and restarts.

• Complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals and revise intervals as needed.

• Train and mentor other associates within maintenance and operations.

• Monitor output quality and quantity; troubleshoot and adjust machine/process parameters; alleviate minor jams.

• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance to ensure uninterrupted supply.

• Use available resources to diagnose and resolve issues prior to escalation; assist with engineering activities in equipment modifications.

• Process tune equipment to meet/exceed quality within validated state; collaborate with quality/operations to address non-conformances and verify correct machine setup.

• Use hand tools and power tools; perform PMs or repairs.

• Maintain safe working practices; demonstrate safe techniques and proper tool use.

• Use CMMS/Maximo to obtain replacement parts; reconcile inventory discrepancies; document troubleshooting and maintenance activities; complete production records.

• Ensure accuracy and GMP-compliant documentation; communicate status of technical issues within maintenance and operations teams.

• Maintain clean tooling for extruders, injection molding equipment, assembly equipment, and other manufacturing equipment.

• Repair, rebuild, adjust, inspect, and monitor production and facility-related equipment; support mechanical validations as needed.

• Complies with safety and company standards; participates in continuous improvement and safety initiatives. What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills; hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience using CMMS/Maximo to document maintenance activities and manage parts inventory.

• Knowledge of GMP standards and production validation processes.

• Ability to perform routine line changeovers and support equipment modifications.

• Effective communicator and ability to work with cross-functional teams including quality and operations.

• Willingness to train and mentor teammates; strong safety mindset. Nice to Have

• Experience with equipment validations/qualifications from a mechanical perspective.

• Prior exposure to extrusion and injection molding equipment.

• Familiarity with Maximo/CMMS and manufacturing documentation beyond basic use.
