Maintenance Front Line Leader – Electrical and Instrumentation

The Prattville Mill is currently seeking a Maintenance Front Line Leader. The Prattville Mill is a complex, fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility with two machines. The mill includes multiple process lines of wood handling, pulping, power and recovery, and effluent treatment. The position works within the Maintenance group and reports to the Area Maintenance Manager.

The Job You Will Perform:

• Lead and promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Coach, mentor, and develop mechanical maintenance personnel to improve skill capability and performance.
• Manage daily maintenance activities including staffing, scheduling, work prioritization, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and communicate maintenance priorities with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, and other support teams.
• Drive effective work execution through the SAP notification and work order process.
• Participate in Maintenance Work Systems (MWS) activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and execute daily and weekly maintenance schedules.
• Plan and oversee complex mechanical maintenance and outage work.
• Manage contractor resources and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations for equipment failures.
• Support reliability improvements and initiatives focused on reducing unplanned downtime.
• Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement actions to improve results.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and support employee development planning.
• Promote employee engagement, accountability, and teamwork.
• Manage labor utilization, overtime, and timekeeping processes.
• Support housekeeping and 5S initiatives throughout the department

The

Skills

You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred.
• Five (5) years of experience in pulp and paper - preferred.
• Applicable maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing environments will be considered.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, piping systems, and mechanical maintenance practices.
• Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and work management systems.
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS systems preferred.
• The candidate should have demonstrated leadership skills, technical knowledge in operations and strong interpersonal skills.
