Job title: Machinist
About the Role Under minimal supervision, fabricate prototype components and assemblies from the initial design phase through full production using formal and informal blueprints. Coordinate setup and operation of machine shop equipment and CNC and manual lathes, and read and interpret manufacturing drawings to produce parts.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate a wide variety of machine shop equipment including CNC lathe.
- Interpret complex blueprints and apply knowledge to set up and operate.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of materials, super alloys (Inconel, titanium, A286, stainless and alloy steels), and process selection.
- Know advanced machine sequences of operation and apply them.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and blueprints.
- Experience operating CNC and manual lathes.
- Knowledge of materials including Inconel, titanium, A286, stainless and alloy steels, and appropriate process selection.
- Capability to coordinate complicated set-ups and operate standard machine shop equipment.
