About the Role

• We are seeking an experienced and skilled Machinist to join our manufacturing/engineering team in Ogun State.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and setting up machining equipment, producing precision components, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring that all machined parts meet required quality and dimensional specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, grinders, and related equipment.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and machining instructions.

• Select appropriate cutting tools, work-holding devices, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.

• Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators.

• Perform turning, milling, drilling, threading, boring, grinding, and other machining operations as required.

• Carry out machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting to maintain production efficiency.

• Ensure components are produced within specified tolerances and quality standards.

• Conduct routine machine checks and support preventive maintenance activities.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company HSE procedures.

• Minimize material waste, machine downtime, and production errors.

• Maintain accurate production and inspection records.

• Work closely with production, maintenance, quality control, and engineering teams to resolve machining and production issues.

• Follow all company procedures relating to quality, safety, production, and equipment handling.

• Requirements & Qualifications

• OND, HND, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Machine Tools Technology, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of relevant experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge of machining processes and workshop practices.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances.

• Hands-on experience with conventional lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and/or CNC machines.

• Good knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, speeds, feeds, and machining techniques.

• Proficiency in using precision measuring and inspection instruments.

• Ability to troubleshoot basic machine and machining problems.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.

Preferred Skills:

• CNC programming or machine-setting experience.
• Experience working with CNC turning or milling machines.
• Knowledge of G-code/M-code and basic CNC programming.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and machine setup.
• Knowledge of ISO or other manufacturing quality standards.
• Experience in a high-volume production environment.
