Job title: Machine Setter / Operator
About the Role The Machine Setter/Operator is a key member of the production team responsible for operating and adjusting equipment on the production line, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring smooth manufacturing processes. This role is suitable for graduates who will receive on-the-job training.
What You'll Do
- Operate and set up production line machinery and controls.
- Perform maintenance and routine repairs on equipment.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the production process and ensure adherence to plans and procedures.
- Review and follow production plans and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Manual dexterity and technical thinking.
- Self-motivated, independent and responsible.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts in a short/long week rotation.
- Fluent Czech.
- Apprenticeship/technical education in a technical field (e.g., Mechanic of machines and equipment, Automechanik).
- Experience in manufacturing is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with preventive maintenance or machine repair is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: from 40,000 CZK gross per month. Final salary depends on education, experience, and internal equity.
- Shift allowance up to 2,000 CZK/month.
- Transportation allowance 100 CZK/day, regardless of residence or transport.
- 5 weeks of vacation.
- Subsidized on-site catering (lowest menu about 40 CZK).
- Meal vouchers for night and weekend shifts: 180 CZK per shift.
- Overtime pay: 40% of the average hourly wage (up to 150 hours/year); 60% beyond that cap.
- Sign-on bonus for rotating staff: at least 20,000 CZK gross.
- Semi-annual bonuses: 15,000 CZK in July and 10,600 CZK in December.
- Personal evaluation up to 8,000 CZK/year after probation.
- Cafeteria allowance 850 CZK/month after probation.
- Monthly bonus averaging 10% of base salary after the first year.
- Pension insurance contribution of 3% of base salary.
- Seasonal benefits – Christmas gifts, vitamin packages, jubilees.
- This position is based on-site at Ball’s Velim plant.
