Location: Plymouth, MI (East) Work Arrangement: On-site Schedule: Multiple shifts, Monday-Friday: 1st Shift 5:45 AM-2:00 PM; 2nd Shift 1:45 PM-10:00 PM; 3rd Shift 9:45 PM-6:00 AM Pay: $17.60/hour Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Machine Operator - Multiple Shifts at our Plymouth, Michigan manufacturing facility. This entry-level role is designed for candidates with limited or no prior manufacturing experience and focuses on learning machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards through structured instruction and hands-on guidance. You’ll build the skills needed to progress toward more independent machine operation.

What You'll Do as a Machine Operator

• Participate in structured training on machine operation, workplace safety practices, and quality standards.
• Assist with loading and unloading raw materials and packaging finished goods.
• Perform supervised production tasks such as monitoring gauges, replenishing supplies, and cleaning work areas.
• Learn and practice the safe use of basic measurement tools and inspection methods under supervision.
• Follow standard work instructions carefully and consistently while developing machine-operation skills.
• Immediately report safety hazards, unusual sounds, equipment issues, or other production concerns to a supervisor.
• Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition using 5S practices.
• Follow applicable safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures while building technical proficiency.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements This role involves standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods, including shifts of up to 12 hours. Employees in this role regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 to 50 lbs and use manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and small parts.

The position also requires visual acuity for monitoring gauges and performing basic inspection tasks. The manufacturing environment may include noise, vibration, dust, oil, and temperature variations. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as applicable.
