LR_Production Lead - Tokadeh

A leadership role in ArcelorMittal Liberia, based in Yekepa, Nimba, Liberia and another location, overseeing the LR_Production Lead - Tokadeh function within the mining operations. The position focuses on optimizing fleet management, production haulage, data analytics, system integration, and continuous improvement while leading safety and environmental stewardship in a 24/7 mining environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the configuration, use, and continuous improvement of fleet management and dispatch systems (e.g., Fast2Mine, Modular, MineStar). Ensure real-time allocation of trucks, loaders, and auxiliary equipment to optimize production efficiency and drive system reliability, uptime, and data accuracy across dispatch platforms.
• Optimize truck–shovel interactions to minimize queuing, waiting times, and idle equipment. Analyze and improve key performance metrics such as cycle times, payload compliance, and equipment utilization. Identify and remove bottlenecks across loading, hauling, and dumping processes. Support production teams in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly tonnage targets.
• Ensure accurate collection, validation, and reporting of production and equipment performance data. Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs related to fleet productivity, delays, and efficiency. Reconcile dispatch data with production, geology, and plant systems. Provide actionable insights through data analytics to support operational decisions.
• Lead the integration of dispatch systems with other mining systems (e.g., drill & blast, grade control, plant systems). Support the implementation of digital mining initiatives, including automation and predictive analytics. Collaborate with IT and technical teams to enhance system functionality and promote data-driven practices across mining teams.
• Lead and develop the dispatch team, promoting a strong safety culture and adherence to standards. Identify fleet operation risks and implement mitigation strategies. Drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve system efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related discipline.

• 8–12 years of open-pit mining experience with strong exposure to dispatch and fleet management systems. Proven experience with fleet management systems (e.g., Fast2Mine, Frotcom, etc.).

• Strong understanding of load-and-haul operations and mining production processes. Experience in data analytics, production reporting, and system integration.

• Core competencies include advanced knowledge of fleet management and dispatch optimization, strong analytical skills, haulage efficiency, real-time decision-making, and a solid grasp of mining KPIs. Knowledge of systems integration and digital mining, plus leadership and team management capabilities.

• Personal qualities include high attention to detail, strong leadership and communication skills, a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, the ability to perform under pressure, and accountability.

• Working conditions require shift work aligned with 24/7 mining operations, in a control room and field environment with heavy reliance on digital systems and real-time monitoring, and close coordination with production, maintenance, and technical teams.

• Oversee environmental performance within the department, ensure awareness and compliance with environmental policies and laws, review performance metrics, report incidents, and collaborate with the Environment team to drive sustainability improvements.
