About the Role The Medication Nurse administers methadone to patients as prescribed by the Medical Director or Clinic Physician, ensuring medication accountability and close coordination with counselors regarding patient progress.

What You'll Do

  • Administer methadone as prescribed.
  • Evaluate and assess new and current patients for treatment appropriateness.
  • Observe and assess patients post-administration.
  • Follow all physician orders and dosing protocols.
  • Assess patient appropriateness for dosing.
  • Collect urine specimens, file contract urines, and record results.
  • Maintain medical supply inventories and receive medication shipments per DEA procedures.
  • Coordinate and prepare courtesy and vacation dose packages.
  • Train new nurses and implement quality health standards.
  • Maintain accurate patient dosing records and medication inventory reconciliation.
  • Plan and implement treatment center improvements.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and external trainings.
  • Communicate regularly with nursing team members and monitor patients' physicals and lab work.
  • Stay updated on drug abuse trends and treatment information.
  • Ensure the treatment center meets accreditation standards.
  • Report work-related injuries, illnesses, hazards, or security issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Achieve annual goals and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

What We're Looking For

  • Licensed as LPN/LVN or RN in the state of MN.
  • CPR and First Aid certified; valid driver's license.
  • Ability to administer methadone, observe patients, perform data entry, and work in behavioral health settings.
  • Accurate data entry skills and basic computing knowledge.
  • Quick reaction capability and ability to work independently under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of dosing equipment, centrifuge, physical assessment tools, test strips, breathalyzers, and other medical equipment.
  • Basic knowledge and skill in using standard office equipment.

Nice to Have

  • Preferred experience in chemical addiction.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $30.00 - $35.00/hr + Bonus Structure.
  • Hours: 5:30am - 2:00pm (M-F) & Rotating Saturdays.
