About this role
The Low Voltage Technician builds the structured cabling that client networks, security systems, and audio-visual systems run on. You will pull copper and fiber, and terminate, label, and test copper, in offices, medical facilities, data centers, industrial sites, and mine sites, working from plan sets under the direction of a senior technician.
This is a field role and the entry point to the Cabling + Security team. You will spend most days at client sites, working with the Field Operations Lead, the Project Manager, physical security technicians, and other trades to finish each phase on schedule. New construction means rough-in first and a return trip to terminate and test. Occupied buildings sometimes mean after-hours work. Some client sites and mine sites require site-specific safety training, a background check, or drug screening before you can work there.
Technicians who build their cabling skills can move into senior cabling work or into physical security (access control, video surveillance, and intrusion) as openings come up. This seat is open as a W-2 employee position or as a contractor engagement. W-2 employees receive company-paid certifications and training.
