About this role
Love Gardening? Share Your Love of Gardening with Our Residents
Plant Seeds of Friendship with Aged Care Residents
Spend meaningful time connecting with aged care residents through a shared love of gardening. Whether chatting one-on-one with a resident among the garden beds or supporting a small group activity, you'll help create opportunities for conversation, enjoyment, and connection.
Activities may include planting herbs and flowers, watering, potting seedlings, harvesting produce, or simply sharing stories in the sunshine. No gardening expertise is required, just a friendly nature, patience, and a willingness to build relationships and brighten someone's day.
Please note: Volunteer interviews and Orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
