Datacom
Porirua, Wellington Region, New Zealand Posted Oct 23, 2026
Full-time

About this role

Start your career in logistics and technology with Datacom

Are you organised, practical and someone who enjoys being part of a team?

We’re looking for someone at the beginning of their career who is keen to learn and build hands-on experience in logistics. You don’t need years of experience. We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, good attention to detail and a willingness to get involved and learn.

As a Logistics Trainee / Junior Logistics Coordinator, you’ll support the day-to-day movement and organisation of equipment and stock. You’ll learn how a busy logistics environment operates while working alongside an experienced team.

The underlying role supports receiving, sorting, scanning, storing and dispatching goods, including equipment supporting Datacom's Field and Deskside teams.

What you’ll be doing

No two days will be exactly the same. You’ll learn how to:

  • Receive, scan, sort and organise incoming equipment and stock
  • Help prepare and dispatch outgoing goods
  • Use computer systems to check stock quantities and locations
  • Assist with regular stocktakes
  • Pack and physically move goods when required
  • Help keep the work area organised, clean and safe
  • Respond to basic questions about where stock is and its progress
  • Work with different people across the team to make sure equipment gets where it needs to go
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures What we’re looking for

You don’t need previous logistics or warehouse experience to be considered.

This could be a great first step for someone finishing school, TAFE or university, or someone looking to start their career in a corporate and technology environment.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are reliable and willing to learn
  • Enjoy practical, hands-on work
  • Are organised and pay attention to the details
  • Are comfortable using a computer and learning new systems
  • Can communicate clearly and respectfully with others
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Can manage your time and follow instructions
  • Are comfortable asking questions when you’re unsure
  • Take workplace safety seriously
  • Have a positive attitude and are keen to build your skills Why join us here at Datacom?
