Position Summary

The Logistics Development Engineer will serve as the technical architect and lead developer for the Logistics Systems & Automation team. As our operational systems grow in complexity and criticality, this role is essential in transitioning our solutions from rapid prototypes to enterprise-grade, scalable applications. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between operational needs and technical execution, ensuring that all internally developed tools—ranging from API integrations to IoT tracking systems—are robust, secure, and maintainable. By establishing rigorous development standards and infrastructure, this role will eliminate operational risk and enable the Logistics organization to scale its automation capabilities safely and efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Backend Engineering: Own the database schema design and maintenance to ensure zero data loss and high performance under heavy operational loads.
  • Integration Development: Architect and build the APIs that connect our internal tools, databases, and other Logistics systems.
  • IoT Edge Architecture: Design the data pipeline for advanced material-tracking hardware, moving beyond internal platform constraints to a custom, high-availability infrastructure.
  • DevOps: Implement a professional deployment pipeline, creating distinct Dev>Test>Prod environments to eliminate production crash risk.
  • Stability & Monitoring: Shift the team from reactive firefighting to proactive monitoring by implementing server health checks and automated alerting.
  • Code Quality Control: Audit LLM-generated code and implement software engineering best practices to ensure security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Incident Response: Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for production outages, providing root-cause analysis and permanent architectural fixes.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's What You Will Need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience or certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Oracle Java Cert) will be considered.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in an enterprise environment. Must demonstrate experience in database architecture, API integration, and proven track record of deploying and maintaining production-level applications.
  • Required: Python, Java, HTML, CSS, Postgres, SQLite, Schema Design, REST APIs, Webhooks, JSON, Git, Dev/Test/Prod Environments, IoT Architecture, RFID, Data Pipelines.
  • Preferred: JavaScript (React/Vue), SQL, GraphQL, Message Queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), Cybersecurity Certifications
