About the Role The Logistics Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing supply chain and distribution processes to ensure the efficient, cost-effective movement of goods and materials across the organization's network. Based in Grand Island, NE. What You'll Do
- Monitor supply of raw materials, stock levels, storage capability, and levels of demand based on business initiatives.
- Create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing, and logistics, and with outside suppliers.
- Focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production and distribution processes; establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance.
- Oversee the scheduling of deliveries to prevent excess stock or backorders.
- Direct maintenance of records and data essential to material programs including materials resource planning (MRP).
- Consider short-, medium-, and long-term supply plans to ensure security of supply and optimize profit for each supply chain.
- Develop risk assessment and contingency plans should demand exceed supply.
- Other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge of supply chain planning/forecasting; experience with materials planning, MRP, and scheduling.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, logistics, and outside suppliers.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and contingency planning. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $86,625 - $115,500 per year plus any applicable bonus.
