Logistics Coordinator
We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join a service-focused team in West Chicago, Illinois on a Contract basis. In this role, you will help keep transportation activity organized and accurate by managing shipment data, supporting documentation, and staying closely connected with carriers, drivers, and customers. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is comfortable working with logistics systems, handling high-volume data entry, and responding quickly to shipment updates.
Responsibilities

Enter and maintain load, routing, and shipment records within McLeod Software and related transportation platforms.

Record critical shipping information such as appointment times, carrier assignments, and status changes with a high level of accuracy.

Coordinate with drivers, transportation providers, and customers to verify schedules and address delivery or pickup concerns.

Track shipments throughout the transportation cycle and take timely action when delays, changes, or exceptions arise.

Organize and preserve electronic files for shipment paperwork and other logistics-related documentation.

Prepare and revise operational reports that support daily logistics visibility and performance tracking.

Assist with the completion and distribution of shipping documents needed for ongoing freight activity.

Support inbound and outbound transportation coordination while working with internal teams to keep logistics operations moving efficiently.

At least 3 years of experience in logistics support, transportation administration, or a similar data entry-focused role.

Strong data entry skills with the ability to process numeric and operational information accurately.

Experience using computer-based systems for entering, updating, and managing shipping or freight records.

Solid typing ability and attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.

Ability to communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams.

Capable of monitoring multiple shipments at once and responding effectively to changing priorities.

Proficiency in maintaining organized digital documentation and preparing routine logistics reports.
