About the Role The Local Materials Control CDL Truck Driver will support warehouse and distribution operations by optimizing storage, coordinating material flows, and ensuring safe, compliant transport of goods. This role requires a CDL Class A and regular safety checks before each leg of the journey to maintain road readiness, with a focus on efficient storage and accurate inventory handling. What You'll Do
- Handle material flows and optimize storage
- Develop and implement distribution strategies to enhance business performance
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of trailers, including securing cargo with chains and binders and verifying stability throughout trips
- Assist in unloading cargo while maintaining product quality
- Follow traffic safety regulations and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions
- Receive, verify, and record goods and shipments to maintain accurate inventory
- Pack items for shipment according to specifications and transportation requirements
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient distribution
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with Good Practice (GxP) regulations
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- CDL Class A
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., and stand for long periods
- Ability to operate multiple types of forklifts
- Previous warehouse experience and SAP experience preferred
- Onsite location: Houston, TX
- Travel up to 10% Nice to Have
- SAP experience preferred
