Job title: Local Delivery Driver (CDL A)
About the Role The Local Delivery Driver (CDL A) will deliver products to customers in Des Moines, IA, performing about 10-12 stops per day, handling freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service. This role emphasizes safety, compliance, and building strong customer relationships to support Linde's operations.
What You'll Do
- Deliver products to customers with an average of 10-12 stops per day, touching freight, completing paperwork, and delivering excellent service
- Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
- Complete hazardous material shipping paperwork in accordance with DOT regulations
- Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Identify needs for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
- Build relationships with internal and external customers to meet business goals
- Continuously build knowledge of how Linde operates to help the organization grow
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED with proficiency in reading and writing in English
- Two (2) years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a Truck Driving School, with a valid Class A CDL
- Must be 21 years or older
- Hazmat endorsement on CDL or must obtain within 60 days of hire
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two years
- No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
- Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds
