Local Category Buyer

About the Role Hitachi Energy Xi'an Power Capacitor Co., Ltd is seeking a Local Category Buyer to lead supplier sourcing and cross-functional coordination, focusing on RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, price negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance to support supply chain efficiency and in-stock commitments. This role collaborates with operations, sales, services and quality, and works with SQE/Technical teams to drive supplier performance and 2nd-source initiatives. What You'll Do

• Conduct supplier RFI, RFP, RFQ, delivery and quality management in collaboration with operations, sales, services and quality.
• Manage price negotiation and daily sourcing requests; handle contract management as local category buyer.
• Partner with SQE/Technical teams to improve supplier quality performance; manage supplier KPI targets (OTD/OQD/Cost Saving/Cost Avoidance/Payment Terms/Claims) and identify drive 2nd source projects among R&D, technical, quality and suppliers; stay organized and coordinated.
• Develop fulfilment strategies with key suppliers to drive supplier fulfilment excellence and achieve in-stock, inventory excellence and supply chain efficiency; coordinate supplier sourcing, qualification, and annual bidding; PPAP, Supplier Performance Evaluation; manage escalated/urgent supplier delivery/quality/service issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electric/Commercial Engineering; overseas experience preferred.
• 3+ years direct, relevant experience in supply chain in a multinational company.
• Familiar with supplier chain optimization; self-motivated, independent; project management experience; SAP system reengineering experience required.
• Collaboration skills; able to collaborate with peers in other functions/divisions; good communication and ability to work across multiple functions and cross-cultural contexts; drive action via consensus with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI; sincerity and pioneering spirit as key values; proficient in both spoken and written English. Nice to Have
• Overseas experience preferred.
• Experience with PPAP, Supplier Performance Evaluation, annual bidding, and other supplier-related processes. Compensation & Benefits
