Local AV Operator – Autonomous Vehicles

Location: Grand Rapids, MN Pay: $23/hour Schedule: Part-time, up to 10 hours/week Shift Hours: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM Employment Type: Contract Sign-On Bonus: $500

About the Role

We are hiring experienced and safety-focused Vehicle Operators for Grand Rapids’ innovative on-demand autonomous public transportation service.

In this role, you will help provide safe, reliable transportation to passengers while supporting the operation of vehicles equipped with advanced autonomous and accessibility technology.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced driver who is interested in autonomous vehicles, emerging transportation technology, and public transit.

What You'll Do

• Operate and monitor vehicles supporting autonomous transportation service

• Provide safe and professional transportation to passengers

• Interact with passengers and the operations team

• Assist passengers with accessibility needs, including wheelchair users

• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections

• Keep vehicle interiors and exteriors clean and presentable

• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and operational protocols

• Document daily activities and provide operational feedback

• Report issues and help improve the passenger experience

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver's license

• At least 3 years of driving experience

• Excellent driving record

• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail

• Comfortable working with vehicles equipped with advanced technology

• Customer-service oriented and professional

• Organized and able to complete daily documentation

• Able to remain calm and effective in changing or demanding situations

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs. as needed

• Able to assist passengers with wheelchairs and accessibility equipment

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience with electronics, mechanical systems, computers, autonomous vehicles, or other technology is a plus.

• Schedule

• Part-time, up to 30 hours per week

• Shifts scheduled between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM

• Weekend availability is preferred

• Multiple scheduling options may be available
