Overview

Employment terms & benefits Location & Accommodation

• This is a live-in position.
• Accommodation is provided within the family home at Benin City.
• A private room is provided for the successful candidate.

Working Hours

• The expected working schedule is:
• 5:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. — Work
• 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. — Break
• 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. — Work
• 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. — Off/Duty
• 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. — Off/Duty

Days Off & Leave

• One weekend off per month.
• Two weeks of annual leave, which must be taken during the children’s school holidays.
• Additional paid leave arrangements may be made during the children’s holidays, subject to agreement with the family.

Meals & Transportation

• Two square meals are provided daily.
• Transportation is provided when accompanying the family to events and other destinations.
• Transportation is also provided for official household errands carried out on behalf of the family.

Salary & Career Growth

• Salary ₦60,000 per month.
• There is potential for pay progression based on performance.
• There is room for career progression, increased responsibility, and salary growth based on performance.

Probation

• There is a two-month probation period.
• During probation, the family will assess the candidate’s reliability, work quality, communication, initiative and ability to manage the responsibilities of the role.

When the Family Travels

• If the family travels and the employee is not required to accompany them, she may be placed off duty for the duration of the trip, subject to prior communication with the family.

Requirements

• At least 2 years experience in a similar household or family-support role.
• Mature, kind, patient and emotionally intelligent woman.
• At least a secondary-school education.
• Nurturing, calm and genuinely caring toward children.
• Able to cook healthily, wholesome meals for the family.
• Experienced in maintaining a clean, organized and well-managed home.
• Smart, proactive, resourceful and able to work independently.
• Good at managing household routines, schedules and responsibilities.
• Comfortable caring for and supporting children with their daily routines and academic development.
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality and respect the privacy of the family.
• Willing and able to commit to the role for a minimum of 2 years.
• Comfortable supporting the family’s Christian household routines and accompanying the children/family to church and other activities when required.
• Knowledge of Edo/Benin language is an advantage, especially for communicating with the children.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and manage the daily routines of the household.

• Keep the home clean, organized, comfortable and running smoothly.

• Plan and prepare healthy meals for the family.

• Care for, nurture and support the children in their daily routines.

• Support the children with their schoolwork, routines and academic development.

• Prepare and accompany the children/family to church, school-related activities and other outings when required.

• Ensure the home life is organized, comfortable and well taken care of.

• Monitor household needs, supplies, errands and other domestic responsibilities.

• Protect the family’s privacy and maintain strict confidentiality regarding the affairs of the CEO and children.
