Job title: Litigation Paralegal
About the Role The Litigation Paralegal will support in-house attorneys in managing Kia America’s litigation and pre-litigation matters. This role involves intake, tracking, reporting, investigation, and analysis of consumer and commercial matters, coordinating with internal and outside counsel, and assisting with discovery, trial support, and litigation logistics.
What You'll Do
- Investigate facts, coordinate discovery, conduct research, and review and revise draft discovery responses
- Collect, organize, and archive pleadings and documents related to pending and completed cases
- Summarize cases and provide reporting to the legal department, other internal departments, and insurers
- Review and revise Standard Operating Procedures for the litigation team and support other legal department projects as needed
- Support in-house attorneys during trials, including managing trial materials and logistics
- Communicate with internal business units, dealers, affiliates, and opposing counsel to obtain necessary documentation
- Conduct discovery (document, electronic, and media-based) and assist with pre-litigation demands and indemnification requests
- Manage case closure activities to ensure timely resolutions and settlements, including reporting and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain an efficient and organized work environment to meet daily needs and changing requests
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree; Paralegal certificate or equivalent
- 3-5 years of top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience
- Directly related experience with single plaintiff and class action litigation; automotive litigation experience helpful
- Ability to create timely and insightful executive reports and analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other company software systems
- Strong legal and factual analytical abilities and thorough understanding of state and federal rules of Civil Procedure
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work quickly and independently
- Willingness to cross-train into different litigation practice areas within the Legal Department (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $77,105.26 - $100,226.82 per year
