About the Role Hyundai seeks a Litigation Counsel to manage consumer claims and lawsuits nationwide, including lemon law, product liability, and subrogation matters. The role also involves legal research on warranty and automotive law and collaboration with outside counsel to shape strategy and outcomes. What You'll Do
- Investigate, analyze and resolve claims and demands by consumer attorneys in lemon law, product liability, and subrogation matters nationwide.
- Conduct legal research on warranty and automotive law questions; retain and collaborate with outside counsel for handling of consumer lawsuits.
- Manage, support and develop strategy for lawsuits filed by consumer attorneys; supervise cost-effective resolution.
- Advise consumer affairs case managers and other departments on best case handling and resolution.
- Attend mediations, arbitrations and trials with outside counsel.
- Manage claims and lawsuits in the most cost-efficient and effective way.
- Provide counseling and training to dealerships and business units as needed. What We're Looking For
- Passed the California bar exam.
- 3+ years of litigation experience.
- Prior consumer litigation or lemon law experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and outside counsel. Nice to Have
- Lemon law experience.
- Experience with warranty and automotive law.
- Experience with mediation/arbitration/trial environments. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50-$85 per hour.
- Pay type: hourly.
