Litigation Attorney

About the Role A respected California law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to support a Partner based in the Sacramento office. This role will primarily focus on employment law and workplace investigations, with the firm’s practice including administrative, energy, and environmental law. The position is contract-to-hire with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role after approximately 3–4 months, and is fully remote with strong long-term growth opportunities in a collaborative and expanding team. What You'll Do

• Manage employment-related litigation matters through all stages, from early assessment to final resolution.
• Conduct workplace investigations and assist in gathering, evaluating, and organizing relevant facts and findings.
• Prepare substantive legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
• Perform thorough legal research and develop clear written analyses to support case strategy and client advice.
• Oversee case progress by tracking deadlines, coordinating next steps, and helping shape litigation strategy.
• Advise clients on employment issues and provide practical legal guidance tailored to workplace matters.
• Work closely with attorneys in related practice areas when matters involve overlapping legal issues. What We're Looking For
• Active membership in the California Bar in good standing.
• Prior experience handling litigation matters in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
• Background in employment law is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading or supporting workplace investigations is preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage priorities effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented, client-focused approach. Nice to Have
• Background in employment law is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading or supporting workplace investigations is preferred. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: 80 - 95 USD per hour.
