About the Role Squire Patton Boggs seeks a junior to mid-level Litigation Associate to join our Cleveland office. The role involves handling most aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, legal research, arguing hearings, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and assisting with trial preparations and trial. Healthcare/managed care litigation experience is a plus but not required. What You'll Do
- Handle all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and arguing hearings
- Manage discovery requests and responses; coordinate with local counsel as needed
- Take and defend depositions; assist with trial preparations and trial
- Contribute to trial strategy and support the litigation team throughout the matter What We're Looking For
- 2-6 years of experience at a top-tier firm and/or judicial clerkship; admission to the Ohio Bar; JD from an accredited law school with strong academics
- Excellent research, writing, and drafting skills; ability to produce high-quality legal documents
- Experience with healthcare/managed care litigation is a plus but not required
- Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills; self-starter who can prioritize under pressure
- Courtroom/deposition experience is preferred but not required; more senior candidates should have substantial end-to-end management of a commercial lawsuit; more junior candidates should have exceptional academics Nice to Have
- Significant and exceptional writing experience; ability to handle multiple moving parts in a litigation matter
- Experience coordinating with local counsel and defending against litigation Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $222,500-$260,000 per year, depending on skills and experience
