About the Role The Canonical Kernel Team is seeking exceptionally talented technology experts with a proven track record in operating systems kernel development or low-level system engineering to lead the architecture, implementation, and ongoing delivery of Ubuntu Linux kernel initiatives. The role involves driving engagements with silicon and cloud partners, hardening the kernel, and delivering performance and reliability improvements for Ubuntu.
What You'll Do
- Lead engagements for key Silicon and Cloud partners to provide optimal Ubuntu kernel solutions for their platforms.
- Drive mitigation of common vulnerabilities and exposures for Ubuntu Linux and lead active kernel hardening.
- Architect enhancements to performance and correctness to make Ubuntu Linux the most reliable and highest performing Linux kernel available today.
- Streamline the packaging and distribution of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
- Oversee ongoing delivery of these initiatives across global, distributed teams.
What We're Looking For
