Lineman

About the Role The Lineman role involves constructing, building, and maintaining overhead and underground electric facilities up to 34.5 kV, including installation and maintenance of transformers, regulators, capacitors, and reclosers. This onsite position supports Entergy Mississippi, LLC in delivering safe and reliable electric service and responding to emergencies as needed. What You'll Do

• Construct, build and maintain OH/UG electric facilities up to 34.5 kV, including installation, removal and maintenance of primary line facilities and secondary services.
• Install OH/UG transformers and wire transformer banks.
• Wire regulators, capacitors, and reclosers.
• Drive and operate various trucks and equipment, including Aerial Bucket and Digger Derrick Trucks.
• Read and understand job prints and sketches; recognize materials and their function.
• Set and climb poles in open areas, alleys, and energized lines.
• Be available for on-call duty and emergency response.
• Plan, lay out, and oversee work safely and efficiently; lead other linemen as needed.
• Maintain and care for company equipment and safeguard assets; adhere to Entergy safety policies.
• Interact professionally with the public and provide high levels of customer service.
• Recognize hazards in the workplace and mitigate them; identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Ability to work on uneven terrain, in extreme weather, and at heights; operate overhead work from a bucket truck. What We're Looking For
• Five years of lineman experience.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather and irregular hours, including out-of-town assignments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with limited supervision; leadership capability to direct other linemen.
• Commitment to safety and the Entergy safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to learn through classroom instruction, on-the-job training, and repetitive motions.
• Ability to climb and work off of poles of various heights; recognize hazards and mitigate them.
• Ability to maintain and care for company equipment and safeguard assets.
• Customer service mindset and ability to engage with the public pleasantly and tactfully.
• Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
