About the Role Join Entergy as a Lineman responsible for constructing, building, and maintaining overhead and underground electric facilities up to 34.5 kV. This onsite role installs and services transformers, regulators, capacitors, and reclosers, and requires operating bucket and digger-derrick trucks along with restoration and emergency response.
What You'll Do
- Construct, build, and maintain OH/UG electric facilities up to 34.5 kV, including installation, removal, and maintenance of primary line facilities and secondary services.
- Install OH/UG transformers and wire transformer banks.
- Install and wire regulators, capacitors, and reclosers.
- Drive various sizes and types of trucks; operate equipment including aerial bucket and digger derrick trucks.
- Read and interpret job prints and sketches; recognize materials and their functions.
- Set and climb poles of various heights in open areas and alleys, including energized lines.
- Be available for on-call duty and emergency response.
- Maintain safety and follow Entergy safety policies; assist in leading other linemen as required.
- Perform restoration tasks and emergency rescue operations; work safely in elevated and energized environments; may work up to 16 hours per day.
What We're Looking For
- Five (5) years of lineman experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather and work irregular hours and out-of-town assignments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow directives with limited supervision; capable of leading others.
- Ability to plan and lay out work safely and efficiently; strong safety awareness and risk mitigation.
- Comfort climbing and working off poles of various heights; capable of overhead work from bucket trucks.
- Ability to recognize hazards, maintain and care for equipment, and deliver high levels of customer service.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and interoperable teamwork.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% and work on-call and emergency response as needed.
