About this role
Lineman responsible for constructing, building, and maintaining overhead and underground electric facilities with primary voltages up to 34.5 kV. This role involves installing, removing, and maintaining line facilities and transformer banks, wiring regulators, capacitors and reclosers, and reading job prints. It requires operating trucks and equipment, climbing poles, and providing on-call and emergency response as needed, while following Entergy safety policies.
Construct, build and maintain OH/UG electric facilities up to 34.5 kV, including installation and wiring of transformer banks. Install and wire regulators, capacitors, and reclosers. Drive trucks and operate equipment (aerial bucket, digger derrick). Read and interpret job prints and sketches; recognize materials and their function. Set and climb poles in various environments; work safely around energized lines. Be available for on-call duty and emergency response; assist or lead other linemen as needed. Plan, lay out, and perform work safely and efficiently; maintain company equipment and safety. Maintain regular attendance; perform basic computer tasks related to time entry, task completion, and training.
Minimum 5 years of lineman experience. Class A Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather; climb and work from poles; emergency rescue capability. Strong safety mindset and the ability to follow directives with limited supervision. Ability to lead and direct the work of other linemen; good communication and customer service skills. Ability to read and follow safety rules, manage stress, and work overtime as necessary. Regular attendance; ability to travel up to 25% and work up to 16 continuous hours per day if needed. Proficiency with basic computer tasks.
