About the Role Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of our aquatics facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. This is a work-study or student assistant role at Texas Wesleyan University. What You'll Do
- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility
- Act immediately and appropriately as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until EMS arrival
- Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service
- Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
- Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports What We're Looking For
- CPR Certification required
- Current Lifeguard certification by a recognized source of training
- Lifeguard experience
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Skill in the application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
